Synopsis Jacob has barely managed to come to terms with his sister Julie’s attempted suicide (an incident which has left her seriously disabled), when she announces her marriage to Anker, whom she apparently met on the internet. But then, on her wedding night, Julie manages to successfully take her own life: slashing her wrist in the hotel bathroom. Some months later, Jacob remains disturbed about Julie’s death, and tracks down her former husband, now living in the eerie rural village of Murk, and about to marry another disabled women.
Directors Biography Jannik Johansen was born 1965, Denmark. Apprenticeship in filmmaking at Per Holst Film in the late eighties, thereafter directed and edited television productions and short fiction. During the nineties he wrote and directed a number of short fiction films. He made short fiction ‘A Quiet Death’, awarded by the National Art Fund. Technical director on the box-office hit ’Shake It All About’ (2001). Johansen's feature film debut, the boxoffice hit, ’Stealing Rembrandt’ (2003), won Best Acting Ensemble for the male leads at Courmayeur Film Noir Festival in Italy. 'Murk' (2005) and 'White Night' (2007) followed.
