Every man who gets involved in the process of producing a debut film should be considered brave. For our new programme Brave producers Mike Downey (F&ME) chose five debut films which he himself had produced. We present two completely different war films which are a part of our programme. In Guy X (trailer), a dark comedy whose topic is the Vietnam war, the hero (Jason Biggs) falls victim to a bureaucratic mistake and ends up in a dodgy Arctic prison camp. Deathwatch (trailer), on the other hand, is a horror film set in a World War I front, which tells the story of a coward soldier (Jamie Bell) who is watching his English fellow soldiers kill each other.

Mike Downey and producer Sam Taylor started their London-based production company Film and Music Entertainment (F&ME) in 2000. Mike Downey has been the President of the Board of Advisors of the Motovun Film Festival for a number of years. With his production company he has co-produced many Croatian films (Kenjac, Buick Riviera, Karaula).
