City Omnibuses |
On the occasion of the premiere of the omnibus 'Zagreb Tales', nine films which tell stories about the Croatian capital, the new programme called 'City Omnibuses' is bringing to the Tuškanac cinema a dash of capitals from all over the world: Tokyo, Montreal, Paris and New York. And while 'Zagreb Tales', each in its own way, are telling stories about the everyday life of the inhabitants of Zagreb, of peoplewho differ in age, social status, their wishes and hopes through the eyes of 11 authors (Nebojša Slijepèeviæ, Goran Odvorèiæ and Matija Klukoviæ, Ivan Sikavica, Branko Ištvanèiæ, Zvonimir Juriæ, Ivan Ramljak and Marko Škobalj, Dario Pleiæ, Igor Mirkoviæ and Zoran Sudar), the film 'Tokyo!', a triptych directed by three renowned directors - Joon-ho Bong, Leos Carax and Michel Gondry - is a film made of desperate people living and working in that giant, overcrowded Japanese megalopolis...
As a part of the programme, see also 'Montreal vu par...', an omnibus made by the greatest Canadian directors, filmed in 1992, on the occasion of the 350th anniversary of the city of Montreal. Also, check out 'Paris vu par...', directed by six French directors belonging to the New Wave: Godard, Chabrol, Douchet, Rouch, Rohmer and Pollet. On the programme there is 'New York, I Love You', an ode to the greatest film city made by 11 directors, but there is also a triptych dedicated to the home town of directors Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese and Woody Allen, the legendary 'New York Stories'. |
