At 2 pm at the SC cinema, check out Lukas Moodysson's 'Mammoth', the last film from the programme 'Matinees'. The 6th film made by Moodysson, which is the first one he did in English, is a drama about the emotional parting of a successful New York couple (Gael Garcia Bernal and Michelle Williams). The story is told partially, in fragments, in Babel-like style, through several parallel stories taking place on different continents. 'Mammoth' was nominated for the Golden Bear at this year's edition of the Berlin International Film Festival.

The Matinees reruns will take place not only at 2 pm at the SC cinema but also at 9:30 pm at the EUROPA cinema. The 'Big 5' programme, whose films are shown daily at 7:30 pm at the EUROPA cinema, includes hits from the five largest European countries - Spain, France, Great Britain, Italy and Germany. The programme will finish with 'Somers Town', a British black-and-white story about the friendship of two six-year-olds living in present-day London. The film is directed by Shane Meadows, who is the author of numerous art films and who is known for his explicit, dark-humor break from realism.

The main programme at 8 pm this evening includes Dutch director Jochem De Vries' short film 'Missing', which was selected by the Cannes Festival in 2009. After that comes 'The Happiest Girl in the World', a Romanian black comedy for which director Radu Jude won the CICAE award in Berlin and the FIPRESCI Critics' Prize. This feature film debut of the young Romanian director tells a story about an 18-year-old winner of a car, whose greedy parents decide to take the matter of the new car in their own hands.

Dominic Murphy, a feature film jury member, is also the director of the film 'White Lighnin'', which will be shown out of competition, at 10:30 pm at the SC cinema. The British director's debut film is a biography of the dance genius from the Appalachian Mountains and social outcast, Jesco White. The film was produced by Mike Downey and Sam Taylor, the hosts of the 'Bold Producers'. It had its premiere at the festivals in Sundance and Berlin.
