What is it in divas that fascinates us so much, and how do we contribute to this grand illusion’?

Multimedia performance / lecture DIVA is inspired with Richard Dyer’s study Heavenly Bodies’ in which the author examines the idea of the star from the beginning of the film industry until now questioning relations private/public, individual/society, true/fake, carnal/mental. He wants to know how the star is created and what makes her famous and untouchable in the eyes of the audience… The performance / lecture is conceived as a presentation of real facts from the lives of divas who left an impact in the golden age’ of Hollywood such as: Mae West, Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, Joan Crawford, Marylin Monroe, Ava Gardner, Bette Davis, Anna Magnani, Sophia Loren…
